Bridal Guest List Etiquette

Wedding host listing politeness varies widely, but a standard rule is that “whoever pays gets a say”. That means that if your kids or your coming in- laws are contributing to the wedding, they have some level of filibuster strength over the ultimate host depend. Many couples come up with a target number for the whole wedding and split it into thirds- one fourth for their friends and family, one third for each partner’s family to ask whomever they want, and another next for guests to bring a plus- one.

Launch with the definites/non- negotiables ( or A- checklist, or your must- invite group ). These are individuals who you would be disappointed to not have at your wedding. For some people, this is their urgent community, or nearby companions, for another, it may be extended household like aunts, uncles and second relatives.

Next, ponder if anyone who gave you a present needs to be invited. While it’s good to remain remembered by your friends and family, a thank- you note is frequently enough.

Next look at the rest of your record. Do you have chamber for everyone on your want list, or is it moment to cut the B- checklist? This is the time to be honest with yourself, and if you ca n’t accommodate everyone on your list due to budget or venue space limitations, it’s best to save that spot for someone else.
